Storytelling

Storytelling is a powerful tool for making complex narratives accessible, relatable, and engaging. By transforming qualitative data into visual representations—whether through videos, artifacts, or multimedia exhibits—I create compelling stories that amplify diverse voices and bring attention to critical issues.

This approach not only fosters empathy and understanding but also inspires public debate and meaningful action by connecting people to the heart of the matter in ways that reports alone cannot achieve.

The ArtiFacts created during SO50 workshops embody a unique approach to storytelling. By collaborating with older adults to visually represent their experiences, these artifacts transform complex themes into accessible and thought-provoking pieces. Presented to global policymakers, including representatives from the UN and WHO, at the International Federation on Ageing in Thailand, they bridged cultural and linguistic divides, driving urgent conversations about ageing and intergenerational connections.

The SO50 Video Series redefines how we engage with stories of ageing by presenting them in a way that is both relatable and impactful. These videos share the personal journeys of older adults ageing with positivity and resilience, turning their lived experiences into a format that sparks conversation and challenges perceptions. This innovative storytelling invites policymakers and the public alike to rethink ageing, making these narratives a catalyst for change.

My ArtiFacts have been showcased at art fairs across Australia and online to evaluate their artistic and narrative appeal. Exceeding expectations, they earned several awards, including Best Art and Best Digital. Their appeal to art collectors underscores the craftsmanship and impact of these visual stories, proving their ability to forge deep emotional connections with audiences.

The same principles I apply in client projects—retrieving, structuring, and sharing stories in engaging and accessible ways—are part of my own life. Whether transforming research into a book, capturing oral histories through video, or translating narratives into visual exhibits, I focus on making stories meaningful, relevant, and impactful for audiences.

Book Publishing
I led the development of a biography project, structuring personal history into a compelling and accessible format. Managing a multidisciplinary team, I ensured the storytelling was engaging, visually compelling, and deeply meaningful. This experience reinforced my expertise in narrative curation, project coordination, and translating lived experiences into impactful formats—skills I bring to all my work in storytelling and engagement.

Video Storytelling
I co-hosted a historical video series, transforming ancestral research into a structured narrative that deepened our collective understanding of the past. Each episode demonstrated how storytelling can strengthen identity, foster engagement, and bridge generations. Unearthing history had tangible results—reigniting family connections and even supporting citizenship applications. This project reaffirmed the importance of structured storytelling in making historical and cultural narratives accessible and relevant to audiences.
