Engagement: Fostering meaningful connections

Engagement is at the heart of what I do. I design and deliver innovative strategies that bring people together, ensuring every voice is heard. From supporting deliberative engagement processes like Darebin's Vision 2025 to working with diverse communities at the Reservoir Leisure Centre,

I focus on creating inclusive platforms for dialogue. Whether developing creative engagement tools, facilitating conversations, or transforming qualitative data into actionable recommendations, my work bridges communities and decision-makers, ensuring policies and projects are rooted in real experiences.

Explore how I connect people, amplify perspectives, and turn shared narratives into meaningful change.

During the participatory research and workshop engagement, participants’ stories are transformed into visual outputs — photography, artefacts, or multimedia — shared through exhibits, events, and online platforms. This process bridges voices with decision-makers, influences policy, and drives community-focused actions.

Collaborating with Māori elders (Kaumātua), I documented oral traditions to create artefacts that engage younger generations and celebrate cultural heritage.

In gathering and translating qualitative data, my approach combines innovative engagement strategies, data analysis, and visual storytelling to bridge community perspectives with decision-making.

At the Reservoir Leisure Centre, I surveyed residents, documented their stories, and designed the 'Voices of Reservoir' campaign, showcasing participants through photography and narratives. This work not only informed council reports with actionable recommendations but also provided the community with immediate feedback, fostering transparency and trust in the engagement process.
